The Vitality of Soil by Jocelyn Duffy

  • Montshire Museum of Science 1 Montshire Road Norwich, VT, 05055 United States (map)

What has soil done for you today? Our lives depend on healthy soil ecosystems—they are the foundation of terrestrial life and environmental health. Jocelyn Duffy will discuss why soil isn't dirt, what is happening under our feet, and how we can protect our soil with good management practices. She'll also go over some basic DIY soil tests you can do at home.

Jocelyn is a passionate natural resources professional, a land steward, and a National Association for Interpretation (NAI) Certified Interpretive Guide. She has over a decade of experience developing and presenting programs about nature, science, and history for federal, state, and regional organizations. She studied natural resource management at Oregon State University and has since been exploring the places where people and the environment come together.

This adult program is part of a series produced by the Hanover Garden Club in partnership with the Montshire Museum of Science. It will be held in person (with yummy refreshments made by our members!) and via Zoom. It is free of charge and open to the public. Bring a friend!
